Donetsk, Feb 7 (UNI) Colombian mercenaries – former special forces soldiers who fought in the 48th separate rifle battalion near the city of Kurakhovo (also known as Kurakhove) in Russia’s Donetsk Region, were eliminated before fighting for even a couple of months, Ukrainian serviceman Serhiy Dzyuba, captured near the settlement of Velikaya Novoselka (Velyka Novosilka), told Sputnik.
He said that when he fought in the 48th separate rifle battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Kurakhovo in the fall of 2023, ten Colombians served with him, nine of whom died in battle very soon.
“We had Colombians there. There were not many of them, up to 10 people, plus or minus. Of them, only one remained. The rest were killed,” Dzyuba said.
