Mumbai, Feb 13 (UNI) The BSE Sensex remained negative for the seventh consecutive session on Thursday, declining 32.11 pts to settle at 76,138.97 as selling pressure was seen in Technology, IT, and Oil and Gas stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 13.85 pts at 23,031.40.
High volatility was seen during the day, as the Sensex improved 30 pts to open at 76,201.10. It rallied 593 pts at 76,764.53, a day high.
In late trade, it erased earlier gains and settled at 76,138.97, easing 32.11 pts from its previous close.
Meanwhile, it slipped 158 pts at 76,013.43, a day low.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 23,235.50 and 22,992.20 pts respectively.
The stocks that dropped were IT by 0.93 pc followed by FMCG by 0.66 pc, Technology by 0.64 pc, and Oil and Gas by 0.34 pc.
The Mid-cap rose 0.07 pc while the Small-cap slipped by 0.43 pc.
In 30 scrips, 15 advances while 15 declined.
The losers were Adani Ports by 1.90 pc to Rs 1108, Infosys by 1.19 pc to Rs 1841.65, L& T by 1.12 pc to Rs 3252.60 and SBI by 0.85 pc to Rs 727.
The gainers were Tata Steel by 3.06 pc to Rs 136.30, Bajaj Finserv by 2.97 pc to Rs 1840.60, Sun Pharma by 2.88 pc to Rs 1742.35 and Bajaj Finance by 2.26 pc to Rs 8404.85.
