- Mother said: Son-in-law used to harass for dowry
Bhopal: A newly married woman living in Chhola Mandir area of ????Bhopal committed suicide by hanging herself. Police have not found a suicide note from the deceased. At the same time, the girl’s mother has alleged that the daughter committed suicide after being fed up with the harassment of the son-in-law. The incident happened late Wednesday night.
Kajal Gupta (20) was a resident of Goli Gupta Shankar Nagar Odia Basti Chhola. She was a housewife and her husband is an auto driver. She was married on 4 March 2024. Her first anniversary was to come after 12 days.
The deceased’s mother Neetu Gupta said that since the marriage, the son-in-law used to harass the daughter. He used to pressurize her to bring different things from her parents’ house. Recently he bought her a mobile phone, now he has started demanding a car. He used to harass the daughter for this very reason.
Neetu said that the daughter’s call came on Wednesday afternoon. Then she had told that the son-in-law was misbehaving with her every day and was pressurizing her to bring money from her parents’ house. The son-in-law called at night, he told that Kajal’s condition has worsened, when we reached the hospital, we saw the daughter’s dead body.
