Delhi cabinet approves Ayushman Bharat scheme and 14 CAG reports

New Delhi, (UNI) Delhi’s BJP government in its first cabinet meeting on Thursday approved the Ayushman Bharat scheme with a top up of Rs 5 lakhs and 14 pending CAG reports, which the new regime has promised to table in the first seating of the Assembly.

The cabinet meeting was chaired by Rekha Gupta after she took oath as the 4th women chief minister of Delhi. The meeting was attended by the six cabinet ministers.

Speaking after the meeting, Gupta said “During the cabinet meeting, we took two big decisions. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana, whose implementation had been held back by the previous government, will be implemented in Delhi with a top-up of Rs 5 lakh from the state government”.

“PM Narendra Modi had announced the scheme for the whole nation, but Delhi could not get its benefits because of the AAP. This will be done at the earliest after the formalities are completed” she added.

She also assured that her government will fulfill its promise of providing ₹2,500 monthly assistance to women and added that the AAP would be held accountable for its actions during its rule.

“The first instalment of the monthly support would be credited to eligible women’s accounts by March 8” said Gupta.

Gupta also allocated Portfolios to her cabinet ministers. She has kept the General Administration Department (GAD), Women and Child Development (WCD), Land and Building, Information and Publicity (I&P), Administrative Reforms, Planning, Vigilance, and Finance.

Ashish Sood will be in charge of Home, Power, Urban Development, Education & Higher Education and Training & Technical Education departments. while Parvesh Verma will be responsible for the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, which is tasked with the cleanup of the Yamuna River.

Industries, Food and Supplies, Environment, and Forestry has been allotted to Manjinder Singh Sirsa, while Social Welfare and Welfare for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) has gone to Ravinder Indraj Singh.

Kapil Mishra will be the incharge of Law & Justice, Labour Department, Employment Department, Development, Art & Culture, Language Department, Tourism Department.

Pankaj Kumar Singh was given the responsibility of Health and Family Welfare, Transport, Information Technology.
