GIS accelerating growth in EV and automobile sector: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, at the launch of GIS Bhopal, had underlined the rising number of electric vehicle registrations in Madhya Pradesh, reflecting the state’s growing acceptance of the EV revolution and its vast investment potential. Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a hub for automobile and EV manufacturing, innovation, and research. The government ensures comprehensive support for investors, driving significant momentum in the EV and automobile sectors. From the platform of the Global Investors Summit (GIS) Bhopal, CM reaffirmed his commitment to making Madhya Pradesh a leader in this sector.

Leading automobile and EV companies from India and abroad participated in GIS-Bhopal. Currently, more than 30 original equipment manufacturing companies are working in the state, and more than 200 companies are manufacturing vehicle components. Madhya Pradesh is among the leading states in the country in commercial vehicle manufacturing, while it is second in bus and tractor manufacturing. GIS- Hindustan Electro-Graphite (HEG), a graphite electrode manufacturing company in Bhopal, signed an investment agreement of Rs 1,800 crore. The plant to be built in Dewas will produce graphite anodes, which will reduce the cost of EV batteries and give a new impetus to the industry.

Pithampur is becoming India’s ‘Detroit’

The Pithampur auto-cluster of Madhya Pradesh is spread over about 4,500 hectares and has become one of the largest automobile hubs in the country. Big companies like Force Motors, Eicher Motors, AVTAC Motors, Kinetic Motors are operating here. Also, more than 60 auto component manufacturing companies are manufacturing their products here. Asia’s longest high-speed testing track ‘NATRAX’ (11 km) located in Pithampur is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for vehicle testing, which makes it globally competitive.
