Bhopal, Under the Garib Kalyan Mission (Welfare of the Poor), the state will now roll out the Chief Minister’s Samriddh Parivar Yojana (Prosperous Family Scheme). This ambitious initiative aims to provide a comprehensive package of government schemes to families living below the poverty line. Instead of offering just one or two schemes, eligible families will receive a tailored package of benefits based on their specific needs and qualifications.
Linking Laadli Behen Beneficiaries to Insurance and Pension Plans
In a major move, the state will now bring all citizens under the umbrella of insurance schemes. A state-level Insurance Committee will be formed, modeled after the State Bankers’ Committee. This committee will work to link beneficiaries of major welfare programs like the Laadli Behen Yojana (Women’s Welfare Scheme) to national insurance and pension schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Bima Yojana, and the Atal Pension Yojana. This will ensure that beneficiaries can avail the benefits of both insurance and pension, empowering them financially.
Launching the Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkrasht Abhiyan (Earth Father Tribal Village Development Campaign)
For the holistic development of tribal areas, the Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkrasht Abhiyan will be launched across the state. Under this initiative, 11,377 villages across 267 development blocks will undergo a transformative makeover. This ambitious plan will benefit around 19 lakh tribal families and 94 lakh people in total. To support this, the budget has allocated Rs 200 crore for the project, underscoring the state’s commitment to uplift tribal communities and ensure their inclusive growth.
Hostels for Working Women
Recognizing the needs of working women, the new budget announces the establishment of hostels for women workers. This plan will see the creation of 5,772 bedded hostels in the state’s four major industrial hubs. Additionally, to further support the industrial workforce, the government will encourage residential arrangements through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, ensuring that workers have access to affordable and reliable accommodation options.
These initiatives highlight the state government’s focus on inclusivity, empowerment, and the well-being of its citizens, particularly the underprivileged, women, and working-class families. With a vision to uplift every segment of society, these comprehensive programs aim to provide a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
