After US and Russia, Israel, Australia, UK, EU, others condemn Kashmir terror attack

New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI) Messages from world leaders condemning the terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam continued to pour in as well as offering condolences to the families of those killed, including from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Australian PM Anthony Albanese, Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay, among others.

On Tuesday night, US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir had condemned the terror attack in which 28 tourists were killed, and President Trump had also called up PM Modi to speak with him and express support.

Among others to condemn the attack today included Denmark PM Mette Frederiksen, EU President Ursula von Der Leyen, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Guyanese President Irfaan Ali, Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli, Sri Lankan PM Anura Kumara Dissanayake, UK PM Keir Starmer, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, among others.

The UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on X:

“The horrific terrorist attack in Kashmir today is utterly devastating.

“My thoughts are with those affected, their loved ones, and the people of India.”

The Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the barbaric terror attack in Pahalgam, and said Israel stands with India in its fight against terrorism:

“My dear friend @narendramodi, I am deeply saddened by the barbaric terrorist attack in #Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, that killed and injured dozens of innocents.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims & their families.

“Israel stands with India in its fight against terrorism.”

Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli said Nepal stands firmly with India and strongly condemns any and all acts of terrorism.

“Deepest condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Nepal stands firmly with India & strongly condemn any & all acts of terrorism.”

Referring to the news about a Nepalese national being among those killed, he said: “Close coordination is established to verify reports of a Nepali national among the victims & will provide all necessary assistance.”

French President Emmanuel Macron said: “A heinous attack has struck India, claiming the lives of dozens of men and women from all walks of life. We share the profound sorrow of the victims’ families, to whom I extend my heartfelt condolences.”

The German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in his message said:

“We strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims and we wish the injured a speedy recovery. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the people of India.”

Guyanese President Irfaan Ali in his message said the terror attack is a tragic reminder of the devastating impact of extremism, and voiced confidence that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

“Your Excellency, @narendramodi, I am deeply saddened to learn about the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir that has left scores dead and many more injured. This heinous act of violence is a tragic reminder of the devastating impact of extremism.

“I unequivocally condemn this brutal attack, which serves no purpose other than to instill fear and suffering. Violence is never a solution; it only perpetuates a cycle of pain and loss. We must strive for peace and understanding, working together to build a future free from such atrocities.

“Please convey my heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those who have lost their lives in this tragedy. They are in my thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

“Let us all stand together against such acts of violence and commit ourselves to fostering a culture of peace and compassion.

“I am confident that those responsible for this horrific attack will be brought to justice.

“With deepest sympathy.”

EU chief Ursula von der Leyen in her message said that Europe stands with India in this tough time.

“The vile terror attack in Pahalgam today stole so many innocent lives.

My deepest condolences to @narendramodi and every Indian heart grieving today.

“Yet I know that India’s spirit is unbreakable.

“You will stand strong in this ordeal.

“And Europe will stand with you.”

Australian PM Anthony Albanese said there is no justification for the terror attack and Australia condemns it.

“I am shocked by the horrific terror attack on innocent civilians in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.

“There is no justification for this violence and Australia condemns it.

“Our hearts go out to the injured, to those mourning loved ones and to everyone in Australia touched by this terrible news.”

Bhutanese PM Tshering Tobgay strongly condemned the terrorist attack.

“Sending condolences & prayers to the victims & those affected by the horrific terrorist attack that happened in Pahalgam yesterday. Bhutan strongly condemns such brutal acts of terror & stands firmly with the Government & People of India in solidarity & friendship. @narendramodi”

Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his message said Sri Lanka condemns in the strongest terms the cowardly terrorist attack and stands in solidarity with the people of India.

“I condemn in the strongest terms the cowardly terrorist attack in India. Our hearts are with the victims and their families. Sri Lanka always stands in solidarity with the people of India.”

The Chinese Ambassador in India Xu Feihong in his message condemned the attack and said China opposes terrorism of all forms. “Shocked by the attack in Pahalgam and condemn. Deep condolences for the victims and sincere sympathies to the injured and the bereaved families. Oppose terrorism of all forms.”

The Ukrainian Embassy in its message said:

“Ukraine is deeply concerned over the attack on tourists at Pahalgam, J&K. We endure the loss of life from terrorism daily and firmly condemn terrorism in all its forms. When innocent people are murdered, it brings unbearable pain. The perpetrators should be held accountable.”

Denmark PM Mette Frederiksen said her country stands with India and strongly condemns all acts of terrorism:

“Terrible news from Pahalgam. Denmark stands with India and strongly condemns all acts of terrorism. Our condolences to the victims of the attack and their families and loved ones.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nepal said:

“Nepal unequivocally condemns the barbaric terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and express our sincere wishes for the swift and full recovery of those injured.

“Nepal stands in steadfast solidarity with the Government and people of India in this time of sorrow.

“In line with our firm and principled position, Nepal condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and believes that such heinous acts of terrorism cannot and should not be justified on any ground.”

The Embassy of Mexico in India also condemned the “heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam”.

The Iran Foreign Ministry also condemned the terrorist attack. The Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei “described this heinous act as a grave crime, in flagrant violation of all international legal and humanitarian norms.

“He expressed heartfelt sympathy with the families of the victims, while extending condolences to the government and people of India and wishing a swift recovery for the injured.

“Baqaei reiterated the principled position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in unequivocally condemning all forms and manifestations of terrorism. He also underscored the urgent need to further strengthen cooperation and coordination at regional and international levels in order to prevent and combat terrorism, and to ensure the prosecution and punishment of its perpetrators and sponsors.”

The Pakistani Foreign ministry, without mentioning it as a terror attack, said: “We are concerned about the loss of tourists’ lives in an attack in the Anantnag district. We extend our condolences to the near ones of the deceased and wish the injured a speedy recovery.”

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also condemned the terror attack, with his message included in the India-Saudi joint statement issued by the two sides following PM Modi’s bilateral talks with him in Jeddah yesterday.
