AAP asks Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal to quit after her remarks against Atishi

New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday asked its Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal to quit following her remarks against Atishi on being chosen as the new Chief Minister of Delhi.

In a social media post on X, Maliwal questioned Atishi about her connections with terrorist Afzal Guru, stating, “I will never stay silent if my Delhi is in the hands of those who admire the terrorist Afzal.”

“As a Member of Parliament from Delhi, it is my responsibility to raise the voice of Delhi and the country,” Maliwal said.

“Whatever is said against me, they (Atishi) must answer for any connections with the terrorist Afzal,” she added.

Reacting to her remarks, Senior AAP leader Dilip Pandey said if Maliwal has any sense of shame, she should resign and seek a Rajya Sabha seat from the BJP instead.

“Swati Maliwal is such a person who takes a ticket from Aam Aadmi Party to go to Rajya Sabha, but takes scripts from BJP to attack the AAP. If she has even a little shame left in her, she must leave the Rajya Sabha MP seat of the AAP,” he said.

“She should resign from the post of Rajya Sabha MP and now choose the path of going to Rajya Sabha on a BJP ticket. If she is fond of staying in Rajya Sabha, then she better seek the Rajya Sabha ticket from BJP,” Pandey asserted.
