AAP urges party workers to gear up after EC announces Delhi election dates

New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) After the announcement of the Delhi General Assembly elections by the Election Commission on Tuesday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and other senior leaders urged party workers to prepare for the elections with full vigour.

Taking to social media platform X, Arvind Kejriwal said, “The dates for the Delhi Assembly elections have been announced. All workers must get ready to hit the ground with full strength and enthusiasm. Even the grandest machinery cannot stand against your passion. You are our biggest strength.”

“This election is a contest between work-based politics and abusive politics,” he said adding that the trust of the people of Delhi is with our work-oriented politics, and we will undoubtedly win.

Senior leader Manish Sisodia said, “The people of Delhi will once again elect a Chief Minister who ensures quality healthcare for families. They will choose a leader who provides 24-hour electricity with zero bills.”

“They will re-elect someone who offers free pilgrimages to families and free bus travel for women. The people will vote for a visionary and honest leader like Arvind Kejriwal, who has implemented welfare schemes with integrity,” he said.

“They will choose a brighter future for their children and a clean, beautiful city. I urge all citizens to vote on February 5 and participate in democracy. We are ready to welcome the results on February 8, which will once again bring AAP to power under Kejriwal’s leadership,” Sisodia said.

Delhi State Convenor Gopal Rai said, “The people of Delhi were eagerly waiting for the election dates. We are confident that they will join hands to re-elect a government that works for them. AAP had already intensified its preparations.”

“With the election date announced, we are accelerating our campaign efforts. All 70 candidates have been declared. Today, we launched our campaign song, Phir Laayenge Kejriwal (We’ll Bring Kejriwal Again). The party and candidates will now reach out to the public with this campaign song, and we are confident of forming a working government in Delhi again,” he added.

Meanwhile, AAP senior leader Saurabh Bhardwaj remarked, “Our only concern was that BJP might delay the elections out of fear, just as they did with the MCD polls. BJP has no narrative or progressive agenda for the people and appears unprepared for the elections. Now that the elections are happening, we are fully prepared. I believe BJP will get even fewer seats than last time, while AAP will secure a huge majority.”

AAP’s Chief Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar highlighted the party’s comprehensive plan for Delhi.

“We have already provided guarantees for Delhi. Under the Women’s Respect Scheme, women will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs 2,100. Under the Priests and Granthis Respect Scheme, each priest and granthi will receive Rs 18,000 monthly,” Kakkar said.

“We have also made several commitments to auto drivers. AAP has always worked for every section of society and received immense support. We hope for the continued blessings of the people and God,” She added.

She further emphasized that AAP remains rooted in public service and is fully prepared for elections.

“We hope the Election Commission takes strict action against BJP’s Pravesh Verma, caught distributing black money, and ensures free and fair elections,” she said.

On allegations of AAP pressuring the Election Commission, Kakkar said, “The pressure is on us because we consistently raise these issues. In Shahdara constituency, a BJP leader filed 11,000 fraudulent applications for voter deletions, which the EC eventually halted after our intervention. Similarly, in New Delhi constituency, we observed a surge in applications for adding and removing voter names after the summary revision ended. It’s crucial that these matters are addressed promptly for free and fair elections.”
