AAP will fight to save homes of Madrasi camp residents: Sisodia

New Delhi, Sep 10 (UNI) Senior AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia on Tuesday visited Delhi’s Madrasi Camp, where residents were served eviction notices to make way for the construction of a new flyover.

He assured the residents of all possible help, stating that AAP will fight strongly against the authoritarian regime to save their homes.

In a social media post on X, Sisodia said “Injustice will not be tolerated with the slum dwellers in the bulldozer regime. Thousands of people living in the slums of Madrasi Camp in the National Capital are an integral part of Delhi. If LG Sahib and BJP try to remove or demolish their houses, we will not tolerate it at all. We will fight strongly against the authoritarian regime to save their homes.”

“The Aam Aadmi Party’s government has given a roof over the heads of the needy, built houses for people,” he said, adding that the party provided free electricity, water, and better education to children. But the BJP has only demolished the established homes of people. The level of education has deteriorated. We will fight against it from the courts to the streets.

We will not allow these huts to be demolished at all. We are also fighting a legal battle, Sisodia said, highlighting that AAP’s local MLA has also provided a lawyer for these people.

“This notice has been issued by intimidating the PWD officials. We will not allow this to happen. These orders will be withdrawn and they will be fully assisted. Arvind Kejriwal is educating their children, he is not doing so to uproot them from here,” he said.
