AIIMS Bhopal ED Ajai Singh Shares ‘ABCDEF Formula’ for Heart Health

Bhopal: The Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, regularly organizes various programs to raise awareness about health among the public. As part of these efforts, Prof. Singh shared valuable information about the ‘ABCDEF Formula’ to raise awareness about heart health. He explained that this formula covers six essential aspects to prevent heart disease and promote a healthy lifestyle.

A stands for Addictions. Prof. Singh emphasized that quitting harmful habits like smoking and alcohol is crucial for heart health. These habits increase the risk of heart disease, so it is important to eliminate them.

B stands for Blood Pressure Control. High blood pressure is a major cause of heart disease, and it is essential to monitor and control it through regular check-ups and appropriate treatment.

C stands for Cholesterol Control. High cholesterol levels in the blood can harm the heart. Maintaining a balanced diet and adopting a healthy lifestyle are important steps in controlling cholesterol levels.

D stands for Diabetes Control and Good Diet. Diabetes can affect heart health, so controlling blood sugar levels and maintaining a healthy, balanced diet is crucial for heart health.

E stands for Exercise. Prof. Singh recommended at least 40 minutes of brisk walking five days a week for heart health. In addition, yoga is also beneficial for both physical and mental health.

F stands for Fun—spending time with family and friends. Reducing mental stress by spending quality time with loved ones is essential, as it has positive effects on heart health.

The Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dr. Yogesh Kumar Niwariya, stated that keeping our heart healthy can be a challenging task in today’s lifestyle, but by adopting the ABCDEF formula, we can simplify it.
