Bhopal- AIIMS Bhopal, under the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, organized a groundbreaking Continuing Medical Education (CME) program titled “Care for Rare: Together We Win” on February 7, 2025. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, the event aimed at strengthening the implementation of the National Policy for Rare Diseases (NPRD) 2021 and advancing rare disease diagnosis and treatment across the country.
Bringing together leading physicians, researchers, and healthcare experts, the program focused on critical aspects such as early detection, screening methods, hospital recognition as ‘Centers of Excellence,’ national rare disease information portals, and patient support through crowd funding platforms.
Prof. Singh emphasized the urgent need for awareness and expertise in this field, stating, “Rare diseases impact millions in India, but due to limited knowledge and resources, timely diagnosis remains a challenge. This CME is a step towards bridging that gap and strengthening our healthcare system.”
The program featured expert sessions, panel discussions, and interactive Q&A rounds, offering an engaging learning experience. Led by a distinguished advisory and organizing committee, the event reaffirmed AIIMS Bhopal’s commitment to pioneering rare disease management in India.
