AIIMS observes Swachhta Pakhwada

  • A commitment to cleanliness and hygiene

Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal, under the leadership of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, has launched a “Swachhta Pakhwada” (Cleanliness Fortnight) from April 1 to April 15, 2025. This initiative, in line with the Government of India’s vision of a cleaner, healthier nation, celebrates Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of cleanliness.

The goal of the Swachhta Pakhwada is to encourage the entire AIIMS community to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness on campus. During the event, Prof. Singh administered the Swachhta oath, urging everyone to commit to a clean, green, and plastic-free environment. He highlighted the importance of reducing single-use plastics and promoting sustainability.

Prof. Singh also took part in tree plantation and labor donation activities, emphasizing, “Cleanliness is a habit that ensures a healthy, sustainable environment.” He further praised the essential role of the security and sanitation staff, noting that their vaccination is crucial for their safety.

This initiative has gained strong support from key figures including Deputy Director (Administration) Colonel (Dr.) Ajit Kumar, Dean (Academics) Prof. (Dr.) Rajnish Joshi, and others. Together, they aim to raise awareness and foster a cleaner, healthier AIIMS Bhopal for everyone.
