Bhopal: Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, the institute’s Physiology Team conducted a specialized workshop on advanced diagnostic techniques for echocardiography and autonomic function testing at APPICON 2024 on December 11, 2024. The workshop aimed to enhance the delegates’ expertise and practical skills in these critical diagnostic domains, fostering excellence in clinical practice. The event commenced with Dr. Ragini Shrivastava, Additional Professor in the Department of Physiology at AIIMS Bhopal, delivering a detailed introduction to autonomic function testing and heart rate variability analysis. She emphasized their pivotal role in diagnosing and managing a wide spectrum of clinical conditions.
Following this, Dr. Rekha Jiwane, Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology at AIIMS Bhopal, provided an in-depth explanation of Ewing’s battery of tests, widely regarded as the gold standard for assessing autonomic functions. Dr. Jiwane, along with Ms. Tanusha Pathak, a PhD scholar at AIIMS Bhopal, conducted interactive hands-on demonstrations, ensuring participants gained practical experience with the techniques included in Ewing’s battery.
