Madhya Pradesh Health Department has alerted all the District Collectors, Chief Medical Officers and Civil Surgeons regarding the respiratory disease occurring in young children in China.
The department has asked them to keep an eye on the symptoms of pneumonia and influenza in children. After the Central Government, the State Government has also asked all the districts to increase surveillance. Although no such case has been reported in the state, in view of caution and safety, guidelines have been issued to review the preparedness in hospitals and monitor patients. In the guidelines issued by Priyanka Das, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Madhya Pradesh, the districts have been asked to review the preparedness of the hospitals. In this, it has been asked to ensure availability of main power, beds, investigation and testing, medicines and consumables along with other health facilities in hospitals.
These are the symptoms of the disease spreading in China
This disease causes problems like cough, pain or sore throat, fever, swelling in the lungs and swelling in the respiratory tract. This disease is spreading from one city to another in China. WHO has also expressed concern regarding this and has asked for a report from China.
These guidelines for monitoring
The department has asked to register the patients suffering from any type of respiratory disease and influenza on the Health Information Portal of the Government of India. Samples of nose and throat swabs of patients suffering from these diseases will be taken and sent for testing. If these diseases are confirmed then the investigation team will examine the concerned area and its surveillance will be increased.
