- No classes after 12 PM
Bhopal: With temperatures soaring past 41°C in Madhya Pradesh, the intense heat wave is causing widespread discomfort. The sweltering conditions have been particularly tough on schoolchildren, prompting the Bhopal District Collector to announce a change in school timings.
In light of the extreme heat, all government and private schools in Bhopal have been directed to cease classes after 12 PM. The new rule, applicable to both government and non-government schools, particularly affects classes up to grade 8.
According to the District Education Officer’s directive, school operations for students up to class 8 will now conclude by noon. This decision, made to prioritize students’ health and safety, comes after increasing concerns raised by parents and the worsening weather conditions.
The heat wave, which began in early April, has been causing significant discomfort across the state, with rising temperatures adding to the ongoing struggles of the residents. Additionally, the surge in seasonal illnesses has raised alarms. With children particularly vulnerable to the extreme heat, this decision aims to ease their suffering during the hottest part of the day.
