Chennai, Feb 26 (UNI) Senior BJP Leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the Mahashivarathri celebrations at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore on Wednesday evening.
The celebrations began at 1800 hrs this evening and will continue till 0600 hrs on Thursday morning.
Mr Shah reached the Isha Yoga Centre, located at Velliangiri foothills, by a helicopter, where he was received by its Founder Jaggi Vasudev.
As part of celebrations, Mr Shah offered special pujas to Lord Shiva and peformed ‘haarthi’ to the Naagar statue at the Centre and also visited the Surya Kundam.
Mr Shah also offered prayers at Dhyana Lingam and Aadiyogi statue, and took part in the Mahasivarathri celebrations.
He would leave for New Delhi tomorrow morning at around 0900 hrs.
