Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that architects have had special importance since ancient times. Raja Bhoj himself was a great architect. Many examples of ancient architecture are present in Bhopal and its surroundings, including Bhopal Lake. The Bhopal Lake is essentially a dam. This extraordinary and unparalleled structure, which was built a thousand years ago, is still useful for a large population today. Built with frugality and technical excellence, this structure is a living example of the prosperous knowledge tradition, and its relevance is still significant. In this regard, the architecture conference happening in Bhopal holds special significance.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the inaugural session of the national conference “Transm” organized by “The Indian Institute of Architects” at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium. Dr. Yadav inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. The Chief Minister honored Dr. Nidhipati Singhania with the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) Fellowship, encouraging architectural innovation and incorporating heritage into architectural excellence.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the architects as Vishwakarma Bandhu (brother architects) and said that there are many mysteries present in temple architecture and worship practices. Bhasma Aarti is a project that represents the journey of life from birth to death in a brief form. The Bhojpur Temple, built by Raja Bhoj, and the structures built by his elder brother Raja Munj in Mandav are examples of the best architectural craftsmanship of that time. These symbols of excellent technology are also the foundation of pride and self-respect for our culture.

He said that Raja Bhoj was an expert in many fields and wrote books on various topics. His capital was Ujjain, but due to invasions from the north, Raja Bhoj shifted his capital to Mandav and built excellent water structures there.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further stated that in this era, Madhya Pradesh is changing rapidly. The state has immense opportunities for industrial and commercial growth. The state’s geographical location, climate, friendly public, and infrastructure like roads, electricity, and water make it an ideal state for investment. Policies focusing on Ease of Doing Business, along with sector-specific strategies, have been implemented to ensure that businessmen and industrialists face no difficulties. Metropolitan cities are also rapidly developing in the state, with large cities like Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, and Jabalpur being linked with five nearby districts for development. There is also a plan to develop a metropolitan area by linking Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Dhar, and Shajapur.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav invited architects to expand their activities in Madhya Pradesh.

It was also shared in the program that the Indian Institute of Architects, established in 1917, with its headquarters in Mumbai, plays an important role in organizing architects across the country and promoting architectural art. The institute regularly coordinates and communicates with various national and international organizations related to architecture and construction. The conference is considered the largest architectural art festival in India.
