Jammu, July 3 (UNI) The Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi on Wednesday visited the forward areas along the Line of Control in the Jammu region.
Gen Dwivedi visited Jammu and Kashmir for the first time after taking over as India’s 30th Army Chief.
“The Army Chief arrived here this morning on a day-long visit to Jammu,” official sources said.
The sources added that he visited the forward areas along the Line of Control, interacted with troops, reviewed operational preparedness, and security structure in the border belts.
General Dwivedi, sources said, will also review security for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra before returning to the National capital.
