Arrested TDP chief Naidu produced before anti-graft court

Vijayawada Sept 10 (UNI) Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, arrested in connection with the alleged Skill Development scam, was produced before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Court here on Sunday.

The state Criminal Investigation Department arrested Naidu on Saturday from Nandyal.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief was grilled at the SIT office till 3 am on Sunday. Amid heavy security he was then taken to the Government general hospital at around 4 am for medical examination. Later Naidu was again taken to the SIT office.

At the court, Naidu’s lawyers presented arguments claiming the veteran political leader was innocent and had nothing to do with the scam.

The defence lawyers also argued that the skill development issue was a policy matter that had been discussed in the Assembly too.

Advocate P Sudhakar Reddy presented arguments on behalf of the AP CID. Lawyers Siddhartha Lodra and Posani Venkateswara Rao argued on Naidu’s behalf.
