Attack on Constitution by PM, HM not acceptable: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, June 24 (UNI) Former Congress president and Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday said attack on the country’s Constitution by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah was “not acceptable and the party will not allow this to happen”.

Talking to reporters in the Parliament, Gandhi said, “The message is loud and clear. No power can touch the Constitution of India.” He also showed a copy of the Constitution to the media.

Earlier in the day, he took a dig at the Prime Minister on microblogging site X and said that the first 15 days of NDA saw “Horrific train accident; terrorist attacks in Kashmir; plights of passengers in trains; NEET scam; NEET-PG cancelled; UGC NET paper leak; milk, pulses, gas, toll have all become expensive; rise in forest fire incidents; water crisis and deaths due to lack of arrangements during heat wave.”

He alleged that the “NDA government was psychologically on the backfoot” and Narendra Modi was busy saving his government.

“INDIA’s strong Opposition will continue its pressure, raise the voice of the people and will not allow the Prime Minister to escape without accountability,” Gandhi asserted.
