Australia, Pakistan visits confirmed as West Indies reveal 2025 home schedule

Barbados, Feb 6 (UNI) West Indies to commence their new World Test Championship campaign against Australia at home, while their women’s side will play host to South Africa ahead of a potential place at this year’s World Cup.

The West Indies have revealed their schedule for the remainder of 2025, with their men’s team to host Australia and Pakistan across the summer as the new ICC World Test Championship cycle commences.

While the West Indies travel to the United Kingdom in May to face England and Ireland in white-ball fixtures, the action further intensifies at the end of June when they host Australia for a three-match Test series as part of the new World Test Championship cycle.

The first Test will commence in Barbados on June 25, just 10 days after the scheduled completion of the 2025 World Test Championship Final between Australia and South Africa at Lord’s.

It will be the first time Australia has toured the West Indies to play Tests since 2015, with matches to be held in Barbados, Grenada and Jamaica across the end of June and early July ahead of a five-match T20I series that will serve as a good lead in to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka in 2026, an ICC report said.

West Indies will then host Pakistan for six white-ball fixtures (three T20Is and three ODIs) in Florida and Trinidad, with overseas tours to India (two Tests), Bangladesh (three ODIS and three T20Is) and New Zealand (five T20Is, three ODIs and three Tests) already slated for later in the year.

It’s also a busy 2025 for West Indies’ women’s team, who will look to qualify for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup at the end of the year via the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier event.

Details for the Qualifier are yet to be confirmed, although the West Indies will be one of six teams at the event attempting to win one of two spots at this year’s 50-over showpiece in India.

Hayley Matthews’ side also have a six-match white-ball series against England scheduled for May and June, before returning home for six more white-ball fixtures against South Africa in Barbados.
