Ayush doctors examine 800 patients sitting under a tree

  • Unique protest by teachers

In Pandit Khushilal Sharma Government Ayurveda Institute, Ayurveda medical teachers examined patients in the campus instead of in the building. The protest by the teachers was done peacefully.

Talking about this, Dr. Narayan, Joint Secretary of the Central Management Committee, told that when compared to other departments of Madhya Pradesh, the salary of the teachers of AYUSH department is almost half. These departments include medical education, veterinary medicine, dentistry, and other higher education institutions. For the past several days, all the Ayush teachers of Madhya Pradesh are protesting statewide under the banner of Ayurveda Teachers Welfare Association regarding their one-point demand for salary revision in the state. It is to mention that during this time the doctors check more than 800 patients. All these doctors kept sitting outside till 1 pm.

Dr. Narayan told that along with Bhopal division Ayush Campus, Ayurveda colleges of Gwalior, Jabalpur, Indore and Ujjain divisions and their affiliated hospitals, protests are also being held in Unani and Homeopathy colleges in Bhopal. Senior doctors of hospitals affiliated to Ayurveda and other AYUSH colleges made checkup of OPD patients while sitting under trees in the campus instead of their rooms. Apart from this, Dr. Vivek Sharma said that there is a one-point demand of all AYUSH teachers that their salaries should be made at par with other departments of the state like dental education, veterinary education etc. The problem of their salary, which has been delayed for years, should be resolved at the earliest.
