Mumbai, (UNI) Bollywood actor and UNICEF India’s National Ambassador, Ayushmann Khurrana, has stepped forward to champion the cause of digital safety for children and young internet users on the occassion of ‘Safer Internet Day’.

With the ever-increasing reliance on the internet, this campaign aims to educate young users about cyber threats and equip them with essential tools to navigate the digital world securely.

A staunch advocate for children’s rights and digital wellbeing, Ayushmann visited an NGO PRATek, where he participated in engaging and interactive sessions on internet security.

“In today’s world, people of all ages, right from children aged 5-6 years to elder people, are using the internet for their ease and convenience. In such situations, it is very important to educate first time users of the internet – that is children about the perils of the internet as well as ways to stay safe online,” the actor said in a statement.

Speaking at the conferment, Ayushmann Khurrana said,” It is truly an honour to further my advocacy for children’s rights with UNICEF India as a National Ambassador. I am passionate about the issues facing children and adolescents in India. As UNICEF’s Celebrity Advocate, I have interacted with children and spoken on internet safety, cyberbullying, mental health, and gender equality.

“In this new role with UNICEF, I will keep up a strong voice for children’s rights, especially for the most vulnerable, supporting solutions for issues that impact them the most,” he added.
