Ban on appointment cancellation order

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
On the instructions of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, the DPI Commissioner on Monday issued a new order and put a stay on the order of the DPI Director regarding the cancellation of the appointment of primary teachers. These primary teachers said that on August 28, the DPI Director had given instructions to terminate the service of B.Ed degree holder primary teachers. After hearing the petition of primary teachers troubled by eviction, the High Court has given them relief for the time being. It is said that the order issued by the DPI Director was issued to the District Education Officers. The order mentioned the order of the Supreme Court and the High Court regarding the appointment of primary teachers, according to which the Supreme Court issued an order on August 11, 2023 and declared the B.Ed degree invalid for primary teachers.

NCTE notification regarding this has also been cancelled on 28 June 2018. Even after this, during primary teacher recruitment in the state, the Directorate of Public Instruction approved B.Ed degree holders. Such degree holders passed the recruitment examination and were also issued appointment letters.

It is worth mentioning that the Directorate of Public Instruction’s attitude towards school education has become step-motherly. There is chaos in primary to higher secondary schools due to shortage of teachers. The examination results of schools are coming out to be so bad, as never before.
