Ban on leave of staff in flood situation

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav called an emergency meeting in view of the flood situation in the state. Top officials were summoned in Samatva Bhavan, while all divisional commissioners, IG, collector and SP also joined through VC. During this, the Chief Minister has banned the leave of officers and employees. He made it clear that in view of the flood situation in the state, they should not leave the headquarters and officers and employees should not go on leave under any circumstances. There is a possibility of rain in the state till September 30.

The CM warned in the emergency meeting that it is the responsibility of the officers to ensure that life remains normal despite heavy rains, there should be no lapse of any kind in this. Safety of people’s lives should be given top priority, the concerned officer will be held responsible for loss of life.

Relief camps should be set up to provide security and facilities to the people affected by heavy rains and floods and the cooperation of social organizations should also be taken in this. Assessment of damage to crops due to floods and information about animal loss should be started as soon as possible.

Provide funds to families in case of loss of life

CM Dr. Yadav has said that due to change in the cycle of rain, more rain is occurring in the month of September than it should be. People living in low-lying settlements should be alerted in time and they should be shifted to relief camps as per requirement. He said that necessary caution and vigilance should be increased immediately on those culverts and bridges on which there is water.

NDRF and SDRF teams active

Dr. Yadav received information about heavy rainfall and floods in the district from the collectors of Guna, Datia, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Rajgarh, Tikamgarh in video conferencing. During this, it was informed that 18 people are stranded in Pohuch river near Bhander in Datia district, people are also reported to be stranded in water in Dabra. There is news of one person dying and three people getting injured due to being buried under a tree in Morena. It was told in the meeting that helicopters are being dispatched from Jhansi, Bareilly and Gorakhpur to evacuate people trapped in the floods. NDRF team has been called for rescue and relief work in Tikamgarh. SDRF team is active with boats and other rescue materials in Gwalior Chambal area.
