Bangladesh 205/6 on Day 4 lunch

Kanpur, Sep 30 (UNI) Bangladesh reached 205 for six at lunch on Day 4 of the second Test against India at the Green Park Stadium here on Monday.

The visitors were anchored by a splendid unbeaten century from Mominul Haque, who stood firm amidst regular wickets falling around him.

Mominul, batting on 102* from 176 deliveries, reached his second Test century away from home, displaying tremendous grit and determination. His innings featured 16 boundaries and a six, as he took on the Indian bowlers with a mix of caution and occasional aggression.

Despite a few nervous moments, including a dropped catch by Virat Kohli in the slips when Mominul was in the 90s, he managed to bring up his milestone in style with a boundary off Ravichandran Ashwin.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, offering support, remained unbeaten on 6 off 26 balls. The pair added 35 runs for the seventh wicket, frustrating the Indian bowlers who struggled to find breakthroughs as the morning session progressed.

For India, Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 45 from his 15 overs, while Mohammed Siraj claimed 1 for 46 in a disciplined spell. Ashwin managed to dismiss the dangerous Shakib Al Hasan for 9 when the former Bangladesh captain attempted to hit him over extra cover but mistimed his shot.

India will be keen to wrap up the Bangladesh innings quickly after lunch, with 60-odd overs remaining in the day.
