BHEL ED urges all employees to plant trees

Bhopal: Keeping in mind the call of the Prime Minister, the Chairman and Managing Director of BHEL has set a target of planting trees on a large scale this year. In this direction, S M Ramanathan, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal, recently inaugurated this campaign by planting trees. He also urged all the employees to plant trees.

As a part of the campaign,1200 saplings were planted in D Sector, Barkheda on Friday by the officers and employees of the Town Administration, Publicity and Public Relations and HSE Department with the cooperation of Environment Forestry Forest Division. On this occasion, B K Singh, General Manager (Human Resources), BHEL, Bhopal was especially present. It is worth mentioning that for environmental prosperity, BHEL, Bhopal plants thousands of trees every year and in this financial year, a target has been set to plant more than one lakh trees, out of which till date more than 58000 trees have been planted by BHEL Horticulture Department itself with the help of various institutions.

The above tree plantation work has not only helped in environmental protection but also in controlling unnecessary slum area / encroachment expansion. Due to the tree plantation being done by BHEL, the amount of oxygen in the environment is increasing, as well as the quality of air has also improved. Today we are facing serious problems due to things like air pollution, global warming and climate change caused by human activities. Keeping these problems in mind, with the aim of giving a better life to the next generation and in an effort to protect their future, BHEL is planting trees on a large scale every year.
