Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal: West Central Railway has been given the Best Maintenance Award to Bhopal Division’s Rani Kalmapati-Nizamuddin Bhopal Express in the 68th Distinguished Railway Service Award Ceremony, while the same division was also given 5 departmental shields.
In the closing program of Rail Week organized on January 29 at Rail Utsav Community Building in Madanmahal, Jabalpur, General Manager Shobhana Bandopadhyay announced special railway service to 9 officers and 53 employees working in Bhopal, Jabalpur and Kota divisions, various factories and headquarters, 22 railway employees in 2023 were honored with the Railway Service Award.
Apart from this, a total of 25 departmental efficiency shields, including Over All Efficiency Shield were also awarded, which also included more than 5 awards received by Bhopal division.
Cultural programs were also organized on this occasion. Additional General Manager Ravi Shankar Saxena, members of Women’s Welfare Organization, heads of departments of all departments, Divisional Railway Managers of all three divisions, officers and employees, officials of recognized unions and associations were present in the award ceremony.
It is noteworthy that for the first time in India, the first train ran from Bori Bunder in Mumbai to Thane on 16 April 1853. On this occasion, Railway Week celebrations are organized. On this occasion, the GM in his address enumerated the achievements of the three divisions of the zone.
