Begusarai/Jhanjharpur April 29 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said the country needs a strong government of NDA led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not a weak government of INDIA bloc having no concrete policies and Prime Minister candidate.
Shah while addressing public meetings in Jhanjharpur and Begusarai Lok Sabha seats seeking support in favour of NDA candidates for ongoing Lok Sabha elections, said that the country strongly needed a strong government of NDA led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not a weak government of INDIA bloc having not even a Prime Minister candidate.
A top leader of INDIA bloc had disclosed responding to a query from a media person that there were several leaders like Sharad Pawar, Lalu Prasad, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee, M K Stalin and Rahul Gandhi who could become Prime Minister if INDIA bloc was voted to power after ongoing Lok Sabha elections, he pointed out.
” Pawar, Lalu, Kejriwal, Mamata, Stalin and Rahul each will become Prime Minister on turn basis in INDIA bloc if it was voted to power, of which chance is very slim”, the Union Minister also a senior BJP leader said adding that a weak government of INDIA bloc would fail to take care of interests of the country. On the other hand, the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi government had taken several decisions in the last ten years having far-reaching effects, he further added. On August 5, 2019, the Narendra Modi government scrapped Article 370 relating to Jammu and Kashmir but Congress leader Rahul Gandhi opposed the move in Lok Sabha, saying it would lead to the shedding of pools of blood there , he recalled.
Shah said that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had taken strong exception to the reference to Article 370 made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his election campaign in Rajasthan, asking what was the need to talk about Article 370 in Rajasthan. Jammu and Kashmir belonged to India and the state was an integral part of the country, he asserted but wondered Kharge even after crossing the age of 80 years, did not understand the importance of scrapping of Article 370. Youths of Bihar had sacrificed their lives to protect the international border in Jammu and Kashmir, he stated
” Vote to ensure the formation of Modi led NDA government which could take strong action against terrorists operating from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir”, BJP leader appealed and said that the Narendra Modi government had made a surgical strike and air strike to demolish terror camps across the border after Pulwama attack by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. Similarly, the menace of Naxalism was on the verge of getting wiped out due to sustained efforts of the Narendra Modi government, he added.
BJP leader alleged that Congress had tried its best to create hurdles in the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya. Despite all the hurdles created by Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured the construction of the Ram lalla temple in Ayodhya, he added.
Shah said that Other Backward Classes (OBCs) would have got a reservation in 1957 itself, had Congress, then in power at the Centre, not put the Kaka Kalekar Committee report in cold storage. Similarly, Congress had also vigorously opposed the implementation of Mandal Commission recommendations while the party was in opposition in 1990, he pointed out.
“The only motive of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi is to make her son Rahul Gandhi Prime Minister while RJD Chief Lalu Prasad is trying to make his son Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, Chief Minister of Bihar”, BJP leader said adding that both Congress and RJD were strongly promoting dynastic politics in the country. What people could expect for themselves from Congress and RJD, if leaders of both the parties were indulged in promoting their sons, daughters and son-in-laws, he asked.
Shah said that Congress and RJD leaders were deeply submerged in corruption. RJD chief Lalu Prasad was involved in a fodder scam while he was Chief Minister of Bihar and he was also involved in land for job scam during his tenure as Railway Minister. Narendra Modi’s government would not tolerate corruption at all and strong action was being taken against those found indulged in corruption cases, he further said and asked the people whether action should be taken against corrupt leaders or not, getting huge responses in the affirmative from them.
BJP leader said that veteran socialist leader Karpoori Thakur was not given due honour by Congress and RJD when the parties were at the helm of affairs at the Centre. It was the Narendra Modi government who had given Bharat Ratna to Karpoori Thakur, he added
Shah exhorted the people to ensure victories of NDA in all forty Lok Sabha seats of Bihar. He also said that Prime Minister Modi would again become Prime Minister with support of more than 400 MPs.
