Bhopal: A bird watching and bio-diversity camp was organized at 6 am on Wednesday at Van Vihar National Park under the ongoing Wildlife Week celebrations and from 11.00 am onwards a debate competition in for college students was organized at the exhibition hall at Van Vihar on the topic ‘Is climate change a myth?’ The debate was organized in collaboration with World Nature Fund India. As another competition, a creativity competition will be organized for college students from 3.00 pm onwards to create awareness on the topic “Painting on Mugs/T-shirts”. The participants were thrilled when they saw the tiger and other wild animals in the Van Vihar.
Earlier on Tuesday, a bird watching and bio-diversity camp was organized today on October 3 at 6.00 am. In this program, 28 participants of Sant Hirdaram Kanya Mahavidyalaya saw various species of birds, the main ones being Indian Robin, Magpie Robin, Night Heron, Gray Heron, Wheat Eye Buzzard, Bronzed Wing Jacana, Whistling Teal, Paradise Flycatcher, Little Cormorant and The participants got excited after seeing Coppersmith Barbet etc. Dr. Surendra Tiwari, Mr. AK Khare, Dr. Sudesh Waghmare, Dr. Sangeeta Rajgir and Mohd Khalif and other officers/employees were present as resource persons. Director Van Vihar Mrs. Padampriya Balakrishnan was also present on this occasion. The program was conducted by Assistant Director Forest SK Sinha.
