Both the cubs of the tiger that were injured after being hit by a train at Budni Midghat in Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal, are critical. A team of doctors from the forest department has been treating them for the last 18 hours. On the other hand, the forest department has asked people to be alert because the tigress is searching for cubs in the forest. According to the doctors, there is not much improvement in their health. Their hind parts are not working. That is why they are critical. They are undergoing medical checkup after the effect of tranquilizer drug reduces and their condition becomes stable. It is to be noted that both the injured cubs were rescued on Tuesday by the forest department and railway team and brought from Midghat to Rani Kamlapati railway station in a special train of one bogie. The team was led by Sehore collector Praveen Singh. When the video of this rescue went viral on social media, everyone praised the officers of both the departments. For the first time, they were rescued by train and brought to Rani Kamlapati Railway Station in Bhopal, from where they were sent to Van Vihar.

CM praised the rescue: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has praised the prompt action taken by Sehore District Administration and Bhopal Railway Division to save the lives of the injured cubs of the tigress. He said that on Monday morning, three cubs of the tigress were victims of a railway track accident at Midghat near Budhni. One tiger died in the accident, but the remaining two injured cubs were rescued and a special train of one coach was arranged by the Railways to bring them to Bhopal’s Wildlife Hospital for treatment. Dr. Yadav said that this is a great example of the Sehore District Administration and Railway Division being sensitive and fulfilling their responsibilities.

This is why they were rescued by train

Forest officers said that the tigress was sitting in an aggressive mood about 20 meters away from the cubs. There was a danger of attack on the forest staff. The place where the injured cubs were near the third railway line has a railway track on one side and a hill on the other. The 7 km route to the spot is inaccessible. Apart from this, there is no way to walk on the 2 km hill.

Treatment of cubs continues: Dr. Gupta

Wild Life Dr. Atul Gupta said that the hind parts of both the cubs are not working. There is a lot of internal injury. At present, it is serious. But out of danger. It is under the supervision of our team. We are trying to make both the cubs completely healthy. It may take time. He said that the injured cubs have been rescued by the joint action of Sehore District Administration, Budhni Forest Department and Bhopal Railway Division. Both the cubs were examined in Van Vihar National Park on Tuesday itself. It was found that the hind parts of both are not working. Their condition remains serious.

According to the Van Vihar Management, Deputy Director Dr. SK Sinha said, both the cubs are under the supervision of doctors.
