Broken traffic lights at Gautam Nagar Junction create chaos for pedestrians

Bhopal,  The traffic management at Gautam Nagar Junction in Bhopal has been severely disrupted for several days due to non-functioning traffic lights, leaving commuters and pedestrians in distress. The absence of these signals during peak hours results in long queues of vehicles, causing significant traffic jams and making it difficult for pedestrians to cross safely.

In addition to the malfunctioning traffic lights, there is also a noticeable shortage of police personnel to manage the chaotic situation. Only a few officers attempt to regulate the traffic, but their efforts seem ineffective against the growing number of vehicles. Pedestrians, in particular, are facing major difficulties as they struggle to cross the road, and there have even been reports of accidents occurring while people try to navigate the busy intersection.

Despite multiple complaints, the Municipal Corporation and Traffic Police have shown little concern. When approached, officials attribute the issue to ongoing metro construction and assure that the lights will be restored soon, but no action has been taken so far.

Dilip Singh, a driver, expressed frustration with the delay, highlighting the growing concern over the safety of both motorists and pedestrians.

The ongoing problem at Gautam Nagar Junction is a serious issue that needs immediate attention. The administration must take swift action to restore the traffic lights and deploy more police officers to ensure smoother traffic flow and prevent accidents, providing much-needed relief to the public.
