Bhopal: Barkatullah University (BU) extended its admission process for the 2023-24 session until October 14, causing a delay in the academic calendar. The commencement of first-year classes took place in November. However, due to Diwali vacations, classes were not conducted in full swing after a few initial days.
Practical classes and academic activities, following the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system, were initiated at the university. Despite the original plan for practical exams to commence on November 22, the university faced challenges and couldn’t adhere to the schedule. For UG third-year students, affiliated college principals were requested to submit the marks of supplementary exams and project works to ensure timely result releases.
The university registrar directed concerned officials to release the results of the 2022-23 supplementary and UG old ATKT practical exams, CCE assessments, project evaluations, and oral semester exams. Colleges were notified to submit the marks within a week.
Although BU extended the admission process until October, there were still unfilled seats in several courses, some with zero or below five admissions. BU aimed to conclude the enrollment of students in the University Teaching Department for the 2023-24 session by the end of November. Private UG and PG candidates were also expected to be enrolled during this period, even though the initial deadline for enrollment was set for October 30. Due to a significant number of students in BU-affiliated colleges facing challenges in meeting the enrollment deadline, the university decided to extend the date.
