Bhopal: On Monday evening, a gang of four women stole silver bangles worth Rs 1.13 lakh from a jewellery shop in Ashoka Garden area. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the shop.
According to the police, Shashikant Soni, a resident of Samrat Colony, has a shop named Riddhi-Siddhi Jewellery just below his house. On Monday afternoon around 3 o’clock, Shashikant left his father at the shop and went to have lunch. When he returned at 4 o’clock in the evening, repair material was lying on the counter. On suspicion, he checked the jewellery and found that the box of silver bangles kept on the counter was missing.
Women seen in CCTV
The theft was revealed after examining the CCTV footage. Four burqa-clad women were seen in the footage. Three of these women engaged Shashikant’s elderly father in conversation, while the fourth woman very cleverly stole the box of bangles.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and registered a case against the unknown women and started searching for them. The police is also scanning other CCTV footage installed in the surrounding areas.
