Bypoll results show Modi, Shah’s credibility declining: Congress

New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) The Congress on Saturday thanked the people for supporting the party in the assembly bypoll and said that the results proved that the political credibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah was declining.

On his social media post X, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that the results have shown that the people have completely rejected the arrogance and negative politics of the BJP.

“We bow before the people for the positive result of the assembly byelection. My heartfelt thanks and gratitude to them for wherever they voted for the Congress party candidates,” Kharge said.

The Rajya Sabha MP said, “We salute all Congress workers for their hard work and efforts in adverse circumstances. The victory shows that the people have now completely rejected the arrogance, misgovernance and negative politics of the BJP”.

“This is also a strong evidence of the falling political credibility of Modi and Shah,” Kharge added.

Meanwhile, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that the people of the country have given their support to the INDI alliance in the byelections held on 13 seats in seven states.

On X, Priyanka said, “The people of Devbhoomi Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have expressed their trust in Congress. Many congratulations to all the winning candidates of Congress and INDIA”.

She said that the people of the country have understood what is good for them and “politics that misleads people 100 years back and 100 years ahead will not do any good to the country”.

“The people want positive politics that improves the present and prepares a clear blueprint for a bright future. We committed to the needs and aspirations of young India,” she said.

Moreover, party spokesperson Jairam Ramesh while hailing the Congress’ victory in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh bypoll said that that the results reflected the changing political environment in the country.

On micro blogging site X, Ramesh said, “Both assembly byelection in Uttarakhand have been won by the Indian National Congress. Manglaur was snatched from BSP due to BJP’s cheap tactics. In Badrinath, the Sitting MLA was from Congress, who joined BJP during the Lok Sabha elections. The public has given him the right punishment and Congress has won the seat again.”

The senior leader said, “In Himachal Pradesh, all the machinations of the BJP have failed miserably. The Congress has won two of the assembly seats held by independents who have been lured away as part of Operation Lotus. This is reflective of the significant recovery of the Congress and public disgust with the BJP”.
