Cases against selected Patwaris will be withdrawn if Cong forms govt: Kamal Nath

Bhopal: A day after the allegations of alleged misbehavior by the police with the candidates who passed the Patwari recruitment examination in Madhya Pradesh, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Monday said that this behavior of the government is an example of its arrogance. He said if the Congress government is formed, the cases registered against the selected Patwaris will be withdrawn.

Kamal Nath said the way the selected Patwaris were beaten by the police yesterday in Bhopal and then cases were registered against many of them, is sheer arrogance. The college where maximum rigging took place in the Patwari recruitment examination is that of an MLA associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

No cases filed against real culprits

He alleged that other people associated with power are also suspects in this scam, but instead of taking any action against the accused, cases are being registered against those who passed the examination on the basis of merit.

Kamal Nath said that if the present government does not withdraw the cases against Patwaris, then these cases will be withdrawn under the Congress government.

On Sunday in the capital, selected Patwaris from across the state had gathered demanding appointment. During this period, heavy police force was also deployed to deal with any untoward situations. It is alleged that meanwhile the police used force against the selected Patwaris.

Sajjan Singh Verma also supports patwaris

Former cabinet minister of the state and senior Congress leader Sajjan Singh Verma also said that as soon as the Congress government is formed in Madhya Pradesh, the Kamal Nath government will first issue orders regarding the establishment of the post of selected Patwari. Verma said that this file will be signed first in the first cabinet meeting.

Verma said that students of the state, who passed this examination on the basis of their hard work are today pleading to the government for their posting. On the other hand in the case of the students who came in the top list from the BJP MLA’s college, the government has not done anything till now.

Verma said that if the CM had been honest, he would have got the scam investigated within a week, but till date the government has done nothing. On the contrary, thousands of students who passed the examination are stressed and feeling cheated today. They are protesting in the scorching heat in Bhopal. I want to assure everyone that as soon as Congress forms the government, we will first give joining to these selected students.
