Bhopal: Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that after the Model Code of Conduct for Lok Sabha Elections-2024 came into effect from March 16, 2024, continuous action is being taken by the police and other enforcement agencies. He said that from March 16 to March 26, Goods worth Rs 31 crore 92 lakh 54 thousand 401, including Rs 1 crore 58 lakh 76 thousand 450 in cash, were seized. During this period, 6 lakh 58 thousand 157 liters of liquor worth Rs 10 crore 56 lakh 21 thousand 800 has also been seized.
Similarly, 8 thousand 696 kg of drugs worth Rs 4 crore 53 lakh 33 thousand 8 and more than 152 kg of precious metals worth Rs 3 crore 32 lakh 52 thousand 934 have been seized. Besides, other materials (readymade, garments etc.) worth Rs 11 crore 91 lakh 70 thousand 209 have been seized.
