China ready to strengthen strategic coordination with N Korea: Xi Jinping

Beijing, Oct 6 (UNI) China is ready to strengthen strategic interaction and coordination with North Korea, deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation, Chinese President Xi Jinping said.

“In the new era and new situation, taking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity, China is ready to strengthen strategic interaction and coordination with the North Korea, deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation, and continue to write a new chapter of China-North Korea friendship,” Xi said in a congratulatory telegram to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and North Korea, as quoted by China Central Television.

The Chinese leader noted that he attached great importance to the development of relations between Beijing and Pyongyang.

Kim Jong Un sent “warm greetings” to Xi Jinping and the Chinese people on behalf of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the country’s government.

“Unfailingly inheriting and developing the North Korea-China friendship, which has a long history and fine traditions, is in line with the fundamental interests of our two countries,” Kim Jong Un said in the telegram.

He added that the North Korean party and government would make further efforts to strengthen and develop friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

The North Korean leader also wished China prosperity and well-being, and the Chinese people “continuous new successes” on the path to comprehensively building a socialist modern country and happiness.
