- Attractive subsidy scheme under Madhya Pradesh Film Policy
Bhopal: With the aim of upgrading cinema and improving the movie viewing experience in Madhya Pradesh, the Film Tourism Policy formulated by the MP Tourism Board is encouraging investors to invest in cinema. Under the Film Tourism Film Policy 2020, investors are being given a grant of up to Rs 75 lakh for construction, renovation and upgradation of multiplexes and cinema halls. A grant of Rs 50 lakh is being given for setting up a single screen cinema hall, Rs 75 lakh for upgrading an existing cinema hall and Rs 75 lakh to encourage the establishment of a multiplex.
Principal Secretary (Tourism and Culture Department) and Managing Director Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla informed that under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state is being established as a film shooting hub. Along with this, efforts are being made to develop film related infrastructure. Madhya Pradesh Film Tourism Policy will make a significant contribution in developing cinema related infrastructure in the state. Along with this, the local film industry will get a boost and new employment opportunities will also be created.
Single screen cinema and multiplex construction to be promoted
15% grant will be given on minimum capital expenditure of Rs 50 lakh for setting up a single screen cinema hall. The maximum limit of grant per cinema hall is Rs 50 lakh. For re-activating or upgrading a cinema hall that has been closed in two years, a grant of 15% will be given on minimum capital expenditure of Rs 25 lakh. The maximum limit of this grant is Rs 75 lakh per cinema hall. Along with this, 15% grant is being given on minimum capital expenditure of Rs 1 crore to encourage the establishment of multiplexes. The maximum limit of this grant is Rs 75 lakh per cinema hall.

Interested investors and cinema hall owners can apply for the grant through a simple and transparent process. For this, download the application form from the official portal https://filmcell.mponline.gov.in/sws/login. The list of required information and documents is mentioned in the application form. The application form along with the necessary documents along with the business plan, financial statements, and proof of property ownership must be submitted to the office of MP Tourism Board. Appropriate grant will be provided after the necessary evaluation of the application form.
