CM honours former Kul Gurus and teachers

  • Guru Purnima will now be celebrated every year in all schools and colleges

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Gurus have the highest place in Indian culture. Gurus spread knowledge along with education. They play a pivotal role in taking their disciples from darkness to light. To honour the Gurus, now the grand festival of Guru Purnima will be celebrated in all schools and colleges across the state every year. The significance of Gurus will be conveyed to the students. Dr. Yadav was addressing the Guru Purnima programme organised in the auditorium of Devi Ahilya University, Indore today.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, referring to many incidents of Mahabharata, explained the importance of Guru-disciple traditions. He said that Gurus impart knowledge along with education. They educate to stand against injustice and unrighteousness. They teach the art of living and donate education and knowledge.

CM Dr. Yadav, while specially mentioning Acharya Sandipani, said that Gurus inculcate nationalist thinking in their disciples. Acharya Sandipani is a better example of this. Acharya Sandipani has instilled the spirit of nation-building and dedication to one’s country through his wisdom.

Gurus have an everlasting importance in life: Mithila Prasad

Former Kul Guru of Maharishi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University, Mithila Prasad Tripathi said that Gurus have an everlasting importance in life. Guru also removes the darkness of the inner self. Guru gives everything to his disciple. Guru is reflected in the disciple. Guru imparts culture and life values while also providing knowledge.

Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education K.C. Gupta expressed his views on the importance of Guru-disciple relationship in Indian tradition. At the beginning of the programme, Kul Guru of Devi Ahilya University Prof. Renu Jain gave the welcome speech. Former Kul Gurus and teachers of other universities including Devi Ahilya University were also honoured.
