CM hosts dinner for top officers in Delhi

  • Officers of MP cadre posted in Delhi attend amidst new CS appointment

Administrative Correspondent
Bhopal, Amidst the arrival of the new Chief Secretary in MP, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav hosted dinner for All India Service officers of MP cadre in Delhi on Thursday. All IAS, IPS and IFS officers of MP cadre posted in Delhi attended this dinner.

This is the first time that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has hosted dinner for MP cadre officers posted in Delhi after assuming the responsibility of Chief Minister. Earlier, the CM has been hosting dinners for state MPs and ministers representing MP at the Centre and state ministers, but this is the first time during the tenure of the current CM that MP cadre officers will attend together in front of the CM at the same time.

The importance of this dinner has also increased because the current Chief Secretary of the state, Veera Rana, will retire next month, and there are no indications of her getting any further extension. In such a situation, it is believed that the state will now get a new administrative head on October 1. A fortnight before the appointment of the administrative head, the new Chief Secretary can be posted as a Special Duty Officer in the Chief Secretary’s office.

Anurag Jain, posted in Delhi, has emerged as the strongest contender for the post of Chief Secretary. It is being told that he has agreed to return to MP, he has met Chief Minister Dr. Yadav twice, last week Jain also came to the capital for two days. Jain is currently handling the big responsibility of the post of Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. He is counted among the trusted officers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In such a situation, the importance of this dinner diplomacy has also increased. The dinner is taking place in Delhi, but the current Chief Secretary Veera Rana is not attending it.

Sanjay Bandopadhyay met Veera Rana

PEB Chairman and 1988 batch IAS officer Sanjay Bandopadhyay will have his last working day on Friday. He is retiring this month. Before retirement, Bandopadhyay reached the ministry on Thursday and met Chief Secretary Veera Rana. Veera Rana is also a 1988 batch IAS officer.
