Cong a parasitic party, standing on crutches: Nadda

Lucknow, July 14 (UNI) National President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) JP Nadda on Sunday attacked Congress and said that today it has become a parasitic party which is not standing on its own feet, rather standing on the votes of others.

Addressing the working committee of BJP’s Uttar Pradesh unit, Nadda said, “I want to ask Congress that the number of MPs who won in all three elections do not cross our 240. After three elections, you could not cross the figure of 100. The number you all have brought together is less than the number of seats won by BJP alone.”

He said that the Congress party has been zero in 13 states. “In Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, where there was a direct fight with Congress on 64 seats, the party got only 2 seats and 62 seats went to BJP. Where Congress fought alone, its strike rate is 26 per cent and where it fought with other parties, its strike rate is 50 per cent,” he said.

The BJP President said that Congress has become a parasitic party today. “It is not standing on its own feet, it is standing on the votes of others. Today this party is standing on crutches,” he said.

He said, “In this election, they discussed the Constitution a lot, but it is our responsibility to tell who tampered with the Constitution. They toppled elected governments 90 times. They talk about Ram Mandir, but for us, Ram Mandir is not an election issue, but an issue of faith. In 1987-88, the BJP had said that it would pave the way for the construction of Ram Mandir. Not once but many times we sacrificed many governments for this statement. Faced many hardships. Finally, in January, we saw the construction of a grand temple of Lord Ram.”

Nadda said that BJP is not only a party of today, but also of the future. “The responsibility that is on our shoulders is not seasonal, that responsibility is on our shoulders forever. That is why this 2024 election reflects that the people of India have supported us for the third consecutive time under the leadership of Modi for a special work to develop ‘Viksit Bharat by 2047,” he said.

He said, “The future is in our hands. It is our responsibility to handle it carefully. Be aware of this responsibility,” he said.

The BJP President said that when the lotus blooms in the country or the states, good governance comes, whereas when others come, businessmen migrate, daughters-in-law and daughters are not safe and scams happen one after the other.

He said that the results of these elections have shown that BJP is the only pan-India party, which is everywhere in the East, West, North, South. “We are the representatives of 140 crore countrymen. On the other hand, other parties, which are capable in the North East, are zero in Central India. If someone is capable in North India, he is not seen in South India. If someone is capable in West India, then no one takes his name in the East. If someone is capable in the Centre, then no one takes his name anywhere in North, East, West,” he said.

Nadda said, “These people used to make fun of us in 1984 for being a party of two members. Today, the same party ruled the country once under the leadership of Atal

Bihari Vajpayee and under the leadership of Modi, we are getting the blessings of the people for the third time in a row.”

He said that there are a total of 1500 parties in the country, including small and big ones. “There is no internal democracy in any party. Most of the parties are nepotistic. BJP is the only party which is working on the basic mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Vishwas. I can say with confidence that no one is here in BJP because of his family, but because of his work,” he said.

He said, “This is our speciality. We are workers and along with being workers, we are also leaders. The one who is a leader is first a worker. The worker of BJP is the one who has the strength to move forward while facing challenges.”

While discussing the achievements of Uttar Pradesh, Nadda said that today UP has become the second largest economy of the country. “There was a time when there was migration here. It would be evening by the time one reached Bulandshahr from Delhi. Today, no person comes to Delhi at night to reach Mathura,” he said.

He said, “Whether there is a spate of expressways in UP or not, elevated roads are being built or not, underpasses are being built or not, bypasses are being built or not, medical colleges are being built or not, AIIMS are being built or not, all this happened within 10 years. Earlier, going to Gorakhpur meant landing in Lucknow, then taking 5 hours to reach Gorakhpur. Then, hire doctors to treat Japanese encephalitis.”

He said, “Today, I can say with pride that world-class health systems have been created in Varanasi and Gorakhpur of eastern UP. Did you think that someday International Airports would be built here? UP has also become number one in the production of ethanol. Today, UP is producing 118 crore litres.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, State President Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya, along with ministers of the state government and BJP officials from across the state were present. During this, JP Nadda also planted a tree.
