Cong appoints senior observers for Maharashtra and Jharkhand

New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, the Congress on Tuesday appointed senior observers and state election senior coordinators for these states.

Giving this information, party general secretary KC Venugopal said that the appointments were made by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and will be with immediate effect.

For Maharashtra, the party has appointed senior observers division wise. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and G Parameshwara have been have been given the charge of Mumbai and Konkan division; former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for Vidarbha; Sachin Pilot and Uttam Kumar Reddy for Marathwada division; TS Singhdeo and MB Patil for Western Maharashtra and Syed Naseer Hussain and D Anasuya Seethakka for Narth Maharashtra Division.

Moreover, Kharge also appointed Mukul Wasnik and Avinash Pande as state election senior coordinators for Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, for Jharkhand, the party appointed senior leaders Tariq Anwar, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu as AICC senior observers for Jharkhand.

It may be mentioned that both the states are going to the polls in the month of November.
