Cong deputes observers for Maharashtra and Jharkhand

New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) Ahead of counting of votes in Maharashtra and Jharkhand on Saturday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday appointed AICC observers for Maharashtra and Jharkhand to oversee post-election scenario, a statement by party general secretary KC Venugopal said.

For Maharashtra, the party has deputed former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot, former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel and G Parameshwara.

Moreover, the party has deputed senior Congress leaders Tariq Anwar, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Krishna Allavuru as observers to Jharkhand.

It may be mentioned that the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand concluded on November 20 and the counting of votes will take place tomorrow.
