New Delhi, June 25 (UNI) Ahead of the election of the Lok Sabha Speaker, the Congress on Tuesday issued a three-line whip, asking all its Lower House members to be present on Wednesday without fail.
The whip issued by Chief Whip of the party Kodikunnil Suresh said, “Very important issue will be taken up in the Lok Sabha tomorrow, i.e Wednesday, June 26, 2024. All Members of the Congress Party in the Lok Sabha are requested to kindly remain present in the House from 11:00 am onwards till the adjournment of the House on June 26, 2024, without fail, and support the party stand.”
“This may be treated as MOST IMPORTANT,” the Chief Whip said.
It may be mentioned that, for the first time since independence, there will be an election for the top parliamentary post. While the BJP’s OM Birla will be the candidate for the NDA, Congress MP K Suresh will be the INDI alliance candidate.
