  • MP Assembly Winter Session: Oppn MLAs raise slogans against govt

The winter session of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly started on Monday (December 16). There was a lot of ruckus on the first day of the session which will run till December 20. Congress MLAs reached the assembly with empty bags of fertilizers. They raised slogans accusing the government of black marketing of fertilizers. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar said in the assembly that fake fertilizers are being sold under the protection of BJP across the state. Umang said that the Congress party is fighting the battle of the farmers.

Govt is raining sticks on the farmers

Singhar further said that the Congress wants to talk about the farmer who is not getting fertilizers inside the state. He is upset because he is not able to sow. Congress MLA Lakhan Ghanghoria said that the interests of farmers are being crushed in Madhya Pradesh. Farmers are being ignored. This is a protest against that. Barwani MLA Rajendra Mandloi said that farmers are not getting urea and DAP. The government is raining sticks on the farmers.

Cong MLAs walk out of assembly

In the house, Umang said that the government does not want to discuss the fertilizer crisis. On this, Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar said that when it will be discussed, the government will answer. Meanwhile, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, calling today a historic day, talked about Pakistan’s surrender to create Bangladesh. Instead of discussing fertilizer, Congress MLAs walked out when the topic was changed. After this, Congress MLAs including former CM Kamal Nath, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar reached Jawahar Chowk.

Scams everywhere: Nath

Addressing the gathering, former CM Kamal Nath said – The picture of the state is in front of all of you. Today, with great sadness, I have to say that Madhya Pradesh is identified as a scam state. Scams in every sector. Scams in employment of youth. Scams in seeds and fertilizers of farmers. Scams everywhere you look. National President of Mahila Congress Alka Lamba said that we will bring the government to its knees on the issues of inflation, unemployment, women’s safety.

Bills will be presented in Assembly

Bills of Higher Education, Urban Development and Religious Trust and Religious Endowments Department will be presented in the Assembly session which will last for 5 days. An ordinance of the Urban Development Department will also be brought in the House. 27 petitions will also be presented in the House. The Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Leader of Opposition will give consent to pay their income tax themselves in the House. Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya will introduce the Salary Allowance Amendment Bill in the House. Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya will introduce the Municipal Corporation Amendment Bill 2024. Religious Trust and Endowments Minister Dharmendra Lodhi will introduce the Maa Sharda Devi Temple Amendment Bill.
