Congress aims to win back Shamshabad seat from BJP

The BJP is dominating in the Shamshabad assembly seat. This time the BJP will enter the fray on the Shamshabad assembly seat with the aim of securing its fifth consecutive victory, while the Congress will try to snatch this seat from the BJP. In the contests held from 1977 to 2018, Janata Party once, Congress once, Ajay Bharat Party once and BJP candidates have been victorious from this seat seven times.

Shamshabad assembly constituency came into existence in the year 1977 as one of the assembly constituencies of MP state. Presently, this seat is in Sagar parliamentary constituency. Since 2003, BJP’s hold on the Shamshabad assembly seat has remained intact.

Congress could win this seat only once in 1985. Whereas in 1998 Rudrapratap Singh of Ajay Bharat Party won this seat. In 2018, Rajshree Singh of BJP defeated Jyotsna Yadav of INC by 7340 votes. At present Rajshree Singh of BJP is the MLA on this seat. Wherein, this time who will get tickets from both BJP and Congress? This will be very important.

Biggest win and loss

In 2003, BJP’s Raghavji defeated Rudrapratap Singh of Congress by 22341 votes in the Shamshabad assembly seat with the highest number of votes since 1977. BJP’s Raghavji got 57602 votes and INC’s Rudrapratap Singh got 35261 votes. In 1998, Rudrapratap Singh of Ajay Bharat Party defeated Badan Singh Raghuvanshi of BJP by 544 votes with the least number of votes. Ajay Bharat Party’s Rudrapratap Singh got 26533 votes and BJP’s Badan Singh Raghuvanshi got 25989 votes.

Possible candidates of BJP-Congress

BJP’s current MLA Rajshree Rudrapratap Singh, former ministers Suryaprakash Meena, Rammohan Baghel etc. along with many leaders are claiming. So on the other hand, the names of many contenders including Sindhu Vikram Singh, Jyotsna Yadav, Inder Singh Yadav from Congress are discussed.

Major problems

There is a lack of industries in the area; there is a problem of unemployment. There is also a need for adequate irrigation facilities in the area.

* In 1977, Girish Chand Ramshay of Janata Party won by 11205 votes from nearest Congress’s candidate Gyanendra Kumar.

* In 1980 Brijmohandas Maheshwari of BJP won by 3461 votes from nearest Congress(I) candidate Suresh Kumar.

* In 1985, Mehtab Singh of INC won by 3942 votes from nearest BJP’s candidate Brijmohan Lahoti.

* In 1990, BJP’s Premnarayan won by 15419 votes from nearest Congress’s candidate Girish Chandra Ramshay.

* In 1993 Premnarayan Sharma of BJP won by 5845 votes from nearest Congress’s Mehtab Singh.

* In 1998, Rudrapratap Singh of Ajay Bharat Party won by 544 votes from nearest BJP’s Badan Singh Raghuvanshi.

* In 2003, Raghavji of BJP won by 22341 votes from nearest Congress’s Rudrapratap Singh.

* In 2008 Suryaprakash Meena of BJP won by 20000 votes from Congress’s Ku Sindhu Vikram Singh.

* In 2013 Suryaprakash Meena of BJP won by 3158 votes from nearest Congress’s Jyotsna Yadav.

* In 2018, BJP’s Rajshree Singh won from nearest Congress’s Jyotsna Yadav by 7340 votes.
