The Congress has alleged a scam of Rs 500 crore in Take Home Ration. The party has complained to the Lokayukta and demanded a fair investigation, accusing Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and CEO of Livelihood Mission ML Belwal of irregularities. The basis of the allegation has been made on the report of the Accountant General.
Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, Rajya Sabha Member Vivek Tankha, Leader of Opposition Dr. Govind Singh, Former State President Arun Yadav, Former Minister Tarun Bhanot, Former Assembly Speaker NP Prajapati met Lokayukta Justice NK Gupta on Monday and complained on behalf of former assembly member Paras Saklecha regarding irregularities in nutrition.
Scam happened after the change of power – After the formation of the Congress government, the responsibility of operating the plants was again given to MP Agro, because it had expertise in it. After the change of power in March 2020, Iqbal Singh Bains was made the Chief Secretary and Belwal was re-appointed.
Scam took place under the protection of the Chief Secretary: Tankha
