Mumbai, Aug 27 (UNI) The Congress party will expose the (Narendra) Modi government and the state government through the public dialogue during the ‘Jansamvad Yatra’, which will start in the state from September three, said Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference at the party head office here on Saturday, he alleged that both the Modi government at the Centre and the Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis-Ajit Pawar government in the state are looting the people.
Besides, artificial scarcity has made life difficult for people to live, he claimed and accused BJP of not working for democracy.
He further said that the following leaders will lead the yatras in their respective areas — former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan in West Maharashtra, Legislature Party leader Balasaheb Thorat in North Maharashtra, former chief minister Ashok Chavan in Marathwada, Opposition leader Vijay Wadettiwar and myself will lead yatras in west Vidarbha.
Accusing the BJP government of not paying close attention to the people’s problems, the Congress leader said that they will try to expose BJP through this yatra.
Talking about the phone-tapping case, Patole said that though BJP has closed the file by allegedly misusing power, this file will be opened again after the Congress-led government comes to power, he stressed.
Speaking further, he said that phones of many political leaders, including himself, were tapped by IPS officer Rashmi Shukla and a case was registered in the incident by the Pune police.
Although an attempt was made to give a clean chit to Ms Shukla, the court said that further investigation was needed in this case, he said.
The Shinde-Fadnavis government had handed over the case to CBI, which has closed it, he added.
